Lori Flower, MA, LPCC is an inspiring teacher and Intuitive Healer, Therapist and Bodyworker. Flower been teaching yoga full time since 2000, having certified in Interdisciplinary yoga with Don and Amba Stapleton. Initiated in Reiki I & II in 1996 and in 1997.
Lori studied permaculture and volunteered to work on organic farms in Europe and the USA during the summer of 1998. In 1999, she graduated from SUNY Purchase, with a BFA in Film/Documentary studies. After moving to Vermont and founding Sattva Yoga, Lori served as Yoga Instructor for ; UVM Physical Education and Medical Students, Champlain College, Charlotte Waldorf High School, Renaissance School, General Dynamics, YMCA, Yoga Vermont, Yoga Mountain Center, Montpelier Senior Center, Ayurvedic Center of VT, Sky Meadow Retreat Center, Dreaming Mountain Retreat and Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, Topnotch Spa, Tyler Resort and Green Mtn. Performing Arts Center, & Flynn Performing Arts Theatre.
In 2004, Lori set sails for India to deepen her study of Yoga and Ayurvedic Massage. Feeling called to a deeper understanding of the natural world around her, Flower immersed herself a nine month Herbal Apprenticeship at Sage Mountain in 2006. After taking a hiatus from teaching in 2008 to immerse herself in homesteading and raising daughter, Aura Zee. Flower remerged in 2011 and became certified to Level 1 & 2 Acro Yoga through Acro Yoga Montreal. Flower also has completed 200 hours of Nuad Bo-Rarn Thai massage training, through the Shiva Shakti school of Yoga and Healing Arts and Lotus Palm School. In 2013, Lori completed Honey Badger Advanced Acro Yoga training, a 5 day residency which held the first ever Acro yoga Olympics, where Flower won first place in the women's category for the longest handstand hold.
In 2014, Flower has taught at Wanderlust Festival, NYC Acrofest and created the first ever VT Acro Yoga festival in July 2015. She guided Thai bodywork & Acro Soul Magic workshops with Jeff Mandell at the Capital Flight Festival in Washington DC & NYC Acrofest, while and presenting "The Art of Inversions" at the Burlington Yoga Conference. Lori and Jeff co-taught, choreographed and performed Acro Yoga dance at the Flynn theatre. They have also offered Community of Play Retreat with Embodiment Activist, Abbi Jaffe, at Dharma Door retreat. In 2017, Flower co-founded and ran OM studio: a yoga and bodywork center in Montpelier VT.
Lori has experience in advanced Thai bodywork trainings through the Lotus Palm school, including Anatomy, Pre-natal & Elderly massage. Flower has experience working with kids through a Kids Yoga & Mindfulness Program at Edmunds Elementary School in Burlington. She has mentored for young girls~ "Earth girls" program at Earthwalk VT in the Fall of 2016 and is certified in Wilderness First Aid. Flower has guided Yoga and Hiking Retreats in VT through the Green Mtn. Club, plus Acro Yoga retreats in beautiful natural settings. Flower offers in person or virtual private sessions and workshops in Yoga, Acro Yoga and Thai bodywork.
